I continue to be impressed with the "rightness" of the bass on the 2Ce Sig II's. They are never boomy and they have a nice ability to keep up with even quick bass lines. After using a Sub Sat system for many years it is a treat to use a high quality full range speaker.

Continue to love my C2Ce Sig IIs as well and agree with the above.
The highs are "smooth" and never harsh.

I presently use mine through a Mac MA6600 and Linn Majik CD player as the source.

I'll tell you, those MC601s really brings out the clarity, airyness, sound stage, and the bass of the sig II. It's so natural sound and the separation of each instrument are excellent. The 2CE Sig II are way under rated.

Kimber makes great cable. I am glad I bi wired mine from the start. When I spoke to Richard Vandersteen about it he said it is really the only way to go.

I feel the same way about my Cary. High quality tubes really let's the 2Ce Sig's shine!

So, the good news is I continue to enjoy my 2Ce Sig ii's! The bad news is I got to spend an evening comparing them side by side to the Vandersteen Treo's. The system was as follows:

Sources: MacMini with Audirvana + running lossless files via the ARC CD9 or a Funk TT with a Sumiko Pearl Evo III high output MC into the ARC LS1
PreAmp: ARC Ref 5
Amp: ARC Ref 75
Cables: about $25k of Audioquest TOTL

With the exception of the TT it is the same system I heard a couple of weeks ago feeding the vaunted Model sevens.

First, it is really cool how good the 2Ce's are. For the money they are a spectacular bargain.

The Treo's, however are MUCH closer to what I heard from the 7's. Very 3D. Perfect decay and clean transients. As big a bargain as the 2Ce's are, the Treo's are probably an even better value as they come so close to the "Unobtanium" speakers sound quality it makes you wonder why people would drop the $52k when for $6k you are That close.

I know where my tax refund is going......

Once again a big thank you to Jon at Ultra Fidelis for his patience and enthusiasm!
