The bigger question really should be are you getting the volume level that you need without excess noise? You should be, especially with an LS27 and the extra gain. The PH6 and PH8 have a fixed gain of 58db, but because of their hybrid designs are very quiet.

I've had no problem with both, even driving the REF 5SE, it just means turning the volume up a bit more than I would with the REF Phono 2SE in high gain mode.

Are you having a specific problem, or just worried about specs?
