I will of course, contact Nordost. Looking in their website “ contact us”
Trying to find a way to attach some photos.

This cable of mine was used with a low wattage CD Player for most of its life time. First Ayon CD35, then Luxman D08u. The broken side is plugged into active power conditioner, Accuphase PS520 , which is warm to the touch, but I don’t think that the outlet can conduct heat from the active circuits. At least other Wattgate EVOs were intact till now.
Toga
Rest assured your PS520 did not cause that to happen.

Your PS520 did NOT and could not cause this.

Did you pick up this cable after market? There really are only 2 possible explanations IMHO;

. Knock-off cable, inferior quality

. Cable is legit Nordost and he connector and termination suffered the effects of cryo and prior use....

OK Nordost replied.

Good news, they will repair under warranty.

Bad news.
1. They did not believed it was self destructed. They believed a strong impact force or a drop caused this.
How could the products be improved if they don’t
believe information from customer??
2. It has to send back to factory to be repaired. This will cost me a lot.
3. Any other types of connectors will have impact on final sound. And I certainly believe them. But well it may be
Nice to make it sound a little bit warmer with some more
weight in the low range.

The cable was purchased from dealer. and I am the first owner. But I never know the condition of the place where it kept before sold to me.
It came with original wood box put in cardboard box and sealed in plastic bag with all paper. I cut open the tape on cardboard box myself.

After I read their email.
I understand that there is reason to be hollow.
The mass of connector has impact on the sound.
I think they intend to make it low mass, like their banana
Plugs on speaker cables.

Nordost is giving me RA no.
If I decide to have it repaired to factory spec.
They will pay for return.

I will accept their offer.
They can only know what caused this by seeing it.

It would be nice to know what happened, especially for us Nordost users as a piece of mind.

I’m happy to help, if needed

Because of your suggestions, I decided to contact them.
They suggested original connectors to retain sound as designed, I agreed.
My cable was purchased from Authorized dealer, but not in my own country as I travelled a lot.
Thanks for your suggestions.

To be sure , so I checked.
The outlet conducted some heat.
Ambient room temp was 31c
And the temp at outlet that will transferred to cables
Was approx 37c.

I would like to praise Nordost for this kind of service.
I wish it be returned as Odin 2
