Hello, i switch from the 470 to 650 the 650 makes the musicflow a little bit stronger, more bass and substance. The power of the 650 is enough to drive your wilsons,no problem The 650 gets a little warmer then the 470.But everything is on green lights. |

Hi FPPDK,
Thanks. Hi NeroNepolus81, Thanks for sharing. It is nice to know that the E650 has the ability to drive more bass. I was a little worried about going from 180W to 30W with the integrated(s) and perhaps thinking if I could get better sound with a 2120+A47. Regards, Jann |

Serge, I see you have Harbeth 30.2s. I have Harbeth 30.1s and am thinking of upgrading my integrated amp. Any suggestions for our speakers?

Thinking of another integrated or separates?

Integrated - don’t really have room for separates. I already have a phono pre and a DAC I love so I don’t need to duplicate those. I am considering both tubes and SS.

The Harbeths midrange is the strength so anything that plays into that strength is a great match really. For under $10k the Luxman 590 Class A is a great match. For tubes the PrimaLuna Dialogue HP is also outstanding for even less $$$. Over $10k the Accuphase or the Esoteric class A should be great. Overall, it is hard to ignore the magic PrimaLuna brings to Harbeth for under $5k though. If it is enough power for your setup/room, the HP integrated should be a strong contender in the quest for the integrated.

The Prima Luna sure is tempting and has been on my list along with the Audio Research VSI75 (which is much more expensive). I listen in a medium sized, but oddly shaped, room and am seated pretty close to the speakers - which is why I went with monitors in the first place. I tend to listen to more acoustic and vocal music these days than Zeppelin so I don’t crank really loud often. I like the characteristics tubes are known for, and the speakers/music I listen to is obviously midrange biased, so tubes may be the way to go. Sorry if I’ve hijacked the thread momentarily, I now return you to your regular programming.
