Default Alpha Power Cords

Have been doing a lot of learning and reading over the years. Thought it would be time for me to start sharing my own experiences with my system.

Over the past couple of months have been adding a lot of new things to my base system which consists of: B&W 802D2's, C2300 with gold lion tubes, D100 preamp for digital sources, a MC452 amplifier, and main source, an Auralic Aries streamer with all my music files on a Qnap NAS. Power cords were mostly AQ NRG 10's, IC's AQ Columbia, and SC AQ Rocket 88.

My first major upgrade was a loom of 4 Alpha power cords: an Alpha HC for my Furman Ref 15 conditioner, an Alpha Analog for the C2300, an Alpha Digital for the Auralic Aries, and another Alpha Digital for the D100. (held off on a cord for the MC452 since did not know what to expect).

My only word after I installed the cords and brought up the system was WOW!

The amount of detail, soundstage, and dimension was unbelievable. It took about 5-6 days for everything to burn in, but everything has now settled in and the overall sound is just amazing. There is now a true warmth to the system I never could imagine.

Time for my next upgrade: SC and IC's

Beautiful system! Just my two cents: You're likely to appreciate the SC and IC upgrade even more if you replace the Furman with just about any of Shunyata's Hydras. The Alpha HC loves a Hydra. You can find them on the used market if budget is an issue.

Thanks for the advice.

I totally agree with you. In fact I should have probably stated in my original post that over the past couple of months I have actually upgraded my system in 3 phases.

Decided that the foundation of my system was the power and therefore the comments on my first four power cords. Was not sure what to expect, but the improvement was so dramatic, I was stricken with the "upgrade flu" that so many of us appear to catch and never seem to be cured of.

I have since added other things to my system.

Phase 2 and 3 really happened only one day apart: a loom of Zitron Anaconda Speaker Cables and Interconnects and then I could not resist: Hydra Triton V2 to complete the additions.

Would like to say finished, but we all know how that works out. Will post my impressions on both additions in different threads soon.
