Demo unit?

I am interested in adding conditioning and protection for my two McIntosh amps. I currently have them plugged directly into the wall with Transparent High performance power cables. After reading all of the glowing reviews of the PS8 and Defender, I would like to try these in my home. Is there a process to demo these two units or do I need to just purchase from Music direct and potentially utilize their 60 day return policy?

If anyone could share demo experiences, it would be greatly appreciated.
