The Beatles - White Album
Blu-ray

Listening to the multi-channel version.
There is Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio.
I chose for Dolby this time.
To be sure I'll have to compare, but I find it a bit more impactful than the DTS.

Default What are you listening to tonight

As I noticed a few (prog)rock aficionado’s amongst the peeps…not so much a recommendation as a notification that some unobtainium has phase shifted into our reality. All I.E.M. (Steven Wilson) releases now available on bandcamp. Some really nice psychedelic tunes.

I.E.M.

An Escalator to Christmas

Arcadia Son

IEM have come for your children

I.E.M. (a.k.a. Incredible Expanding Mindf**k) was a project by Steven Wilson whose works were mainly influenced by Krautrock and experimental music from the 1960s and 1970s. Musically was almost entirely instrumental and largely improvised. Three albums and an EP were issued between 1996-2001.

Brilliant!
I hear Bach and Rachmaninov.
I hear stride piano (James Price Johnson) and Monk; even Bill Evans.
But above all I hear a very original piano style.
This music is accessible, but very intelligent.
Mehldau knows his classics but makes his own thing.
Very highly recommended!
Beautiful performance, great inspirations
