thank you for reply.

I will sell the Raidho 3.1 and stay with the B&W802di. the punch from a speaker like a802di is for me important......
now:
Passlab xp20 stay,
x250.5 con be replace from a couple xa160.5 or

x250.5 PLUS x350.5 or xa100.5. (a ampli x250.5 that sound fine plus a xa100 or a big x350.5..)
The XA100.5 are enough to drive the b&w802di?????

With the combo XP20 & X250.5 I can have another integrated like the Gryphon diablo....or a couple of Bryston 7Bsst (monoblok 600watt)

The main speaker will be the B&W. (for me is very good)
--> of course a Magico S5 or Wilson audio sophia3 are too appracied!!

made a second system with the Graphon or the Bryston or gi with a "only
one" system Passlab xp20 - XA160.5 (they are not too much hot??) - speakers B&W802d2 - player/dac Meinter MA2???

thank you style

The XA160.5 should be enough for the 802di at 90db. But....they are 8ohm speakers. Normally a benign load, but that limits you to "only" 160 watts/channel.

It should be enough....

I'm a bit surprised you would sell the Raidho's. They are highly praised over here.

Let me throw you for a loop. Take a listen to a pair of Revel Salon 2's if you want a smooth top end (the best tweeter I have ever heard), massive soundstage and "punch". Combined with a pair of Classe CA-M600's, they would be awesome.

That being said, if you are sold on selling the Raidho's and getting some 802's, then the XA160.5's should be powerful enough. As for whether that's a good synergy or not, I can't say.

As for Bryston, go right for the 28's.

Mike

Mike
Remember, like all Pass Labs XA amps, there is 6 dB of Class A/B headroom above 160W (so 640W)

Thank you mbovaird & rbbert.
I use the 802d2 with a x250.5 and is enough. (well for me and my room -> long ca. 10meters large 6 BUT the system is not in the longer placed but in the 2/3 of the 6 meter of the room 1/3 is a lunch table ... open space 60m2 ca.

with the Raidho c 3.1 is differente: the same track "need" more power to sound like with the B&W802.
the pre is at 50dB., same track with the Raidho to have the same "volume" i must turn ar. 60dB. !! and over the paper the Raidho is well a 90bD. min.3.5ohm!!
= is the X250.5 not enough (in AMPERE electricity!! NOT WATT)

I will sell the Raidho (extrem choice becouse they sound very "real" guitar, violin, piano , female voices..are much more real vs the B&W but sound "light/ quite/ is not a rock angry speakers.)

the 802 still always in my room -> this speaker have a price/performance like not others....
a extra speaker will be a ceramic (tidal/Isophon) or a great Magico S5, Wilson Audio, Focal ....
powerfull speakers.

With the Passlab I go have the top from so one speaker. = happy!!!

the dealer say me that a XA100.5 in not enough and I go "accuse -feel the difference the power" from a x250.5 and the xa100.5...
well sell the x250.5 too and go with a pair of xa160.5 or stay with the x250.5 and extra xa100.5?

Sorry for my complicate question and my english very bad... I hope you can understand..

thank you
raidho

I think the XA160.5's will be plenty of power for the B&W speakers and likely a good fit. Just remember that they take at least 200 hours to break in and they need 30-45 minutes to warm up and sound their absolute best.

P.S. does this mean you will have to change your username here in AA?

Also, can the caps on the posts be removed to allow for banana plugs like on some other Pass models?

I had one for 3 years. It just gets warm to the touch. It does not put out a lot of heat. I had it on some 89db 8ohm speakers and it never got out of Class A even at high volume. A great amp BTW.

Desmond at Pass has told me that the x250.5 and above can absolutely not accept bananas.

IS anyone biwiring with the x250.5? Can each post fit 2 spades?
