Oh and good luck with the new biz venture...I just started a new venture myself so I know the feeling.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! I have nothing but praise for Shindo and his excellent dealers. I agree I should have posted my equipment here first - my apologies. I am now a subscriber and have put-up a brief ad in the classifieds section. All the best.

Stercom...good luck with the sale of your gear and obviously with your new business venture. Hopefully things go well so that you are back to enjoying Shindo gear in no time

I didn't see it in time, what was it listed at?

$12K. I believe the current list on the VR is $19.5K. Nice pick up at that price.

Personally I am not sure I could actually purchase a preowned component for $12k, unless it was from a shindo dealer, such as Pitch Perfect where Matt would provide you with dealer support if anything went wrong. Perhaps if you knew the history of the piece and could pick it up in person. I, for one would rather save up and buy new or dealer demo or trade in. However dealer demo/trade in is rare for a VR as not many trade up from a VR.

You wouldn't get it for 12K from a dealer more like 16K or 17K.

I think you nailed the issue. With Matt's trade-up program it is not uncommon to see Aurieges, Monbrisson's and Montille's available on a fairly regular basis. It's harder to find VR's, Haut Brion's, GM'70's. They might pop up once or twice a year if you are lucky and you better pull the trigger fast because they will be gone within 24 hours of posting. Still, one of the primary reasons I got into Shindo was specifically because of Matt's trade-up program. What a deal. You pay a little more up front but Matt will take good care of you.

Overall, I agree a person should buy from a dealer whenever they can, especially Matt.

... however another VR turned up on AG today, at a similar asking price!
