New AP Doors hybrid SACD set is scheduled for FedEx delivery Saturday. If these sound better than the DCC and AF gold discs I'll be one happy Doors fan!

I ordered Dire Straits: Brothers in Arms, Pink Floyd: DSOTM and Diana Krall: Girl in the Other Room. Still 7 SACD to go for my starter set. Come on Guys - clue me in!

Ok, here's my definitive list if I could only have 10 (disclaimer, I own all of these)

1. Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon....no explanation needed.
2. Mark Knopfler, Shangri-La...sound quality perfection.
3. Elton John, Capt. Fantastic
4. Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here
5. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Couldn't Stand the Weather (MFSL)
6. Bob Dylan, Blood on the Tracks (MFSL version)
7. The Who, Who's Next (Japanese SHM SACD, expensive but awesome)
8. Diana Krall, Love Scenes
9. Keb Mo, Keb Mo self titled (MFSL)
10. Holly Cole, Temptation (perfection)

Those would be my top 10.....here's a few more that would make my top 20.

11. The Allman Brothers, Eat a Peach (can find relatively cheap).
12. The Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers (Japanese SHM SACD, expensive)
13. Billy Joel, An Innocent Man
14. Aerosmith, Toys in the Attic (out of print but awesome if you can find)
15. Any of the Doors just released in SACD.
16. Getz/Gilberto (unbelievably liflike recording)
17. Dire Straits, Love over Gold (Jap. SHM SACD, reference sound quality
18. Norah Jones, any album, just released by Analogue Prod.
19. Aimee Mann, Lost in Space (OOP MFSL)
20. Rebecca Pidgeon, Best of (chesky SACD...female vocals at their finest).
21. Patricia Barber, Modern Cool, would be higher, but OOP and hideously expensive.

I've had horrible luck buying SACD's from Amazon lately. The last 4 I've purchased wound up being regular CD's! Amazon screwed up the listing in one case. In another case, the SACD was out of print so I purchased a used one and the seller obviously didn't know the difference between a CD and an SACD (the disc was "Let's Get Lost" by Terence Blanchard). In another case they sent me a European DVD-A instead figuring it's equivalent.

I now just go to hdtracks or elusive disc.
