Speakers considerations
Hi,
I am considering a speaker change among other things and I have a few questions regarding speakers sensitivity and bass extension. I currently have the famous Totem Mani-2 Signature that I love but I wish to try something else. I am considering the dynaudio Focus 260. The totems have an isobaric configuration, as there are 2 woofers in push-pull configuration in each cabinet. They are rated to go as low as 29 hz per the spec sheets. The dynaudio, 32 hz. Both are 4 ohms and a 2 ways. The totem have dynaudio woofers. Regardless of rating, do you think the dynaudio will dig deeper because of the cabinet size? The totem are bookshelves while the dynaudio are floor standers. Also the totem are rated at 85 dB sensitivity while the dynaudio are rated 87 dB. How much of a difference does that make on amplification? Thanks

Regardless of specifications, I don't think there's any question the Dynaudios will go lower in the bass all things being equal. I've never listened to the Totems buy I have heard the Dynaudio Focus series and have always liked them, very smooth natural sounding speakers. Always liked their tweeters as well.
