2 x Pure Power 2000's

My objectives for this purchase of 2 x 2000 Pure Powers were:
1. To have ample reserve power for occasional high volume listening
2. Surge and power failure protection
3. Hoping this would have an equal/improved sonic effect on my sound as the PPP did
I have 2 dedicated 20 Amp lines driving the items in my signature plus a Panasonic Receiver, DVR, Oppo BluRay and 50” Plasma and Sonus.
The Pure Power is a Monster. It is 17W x 22 1/2D x 5”H and is rock-solid at 65 lbs. It looks great in black.
1. Each unit provides 16A normal power with 23A reserve and 40+ Amps instantaneous peaks. Even at some high volumes I have only been able to get up to a 31% load. I believe these units will handle anything I will ever require of them with great ease. My input LCD shows constant fluctuations from 119-126V and the Output reads a constant 120V.
2. Far too often in Southwest Florida we have momentary outages that last from 1 to 5 seconds plus we have many thunderstorm events during the summer months. The PPP is an excellent surge suppressor but just shuts off during the short power failures. The Pure Power has a battery and the switch to battery power is instantaneous giving you ample time to shut down your system or have it continue to play, uninterrupted, for a short period of time. Added batteries can be hooked up to give a number of hours, depending on your current draw, of continued listening or viewing or even recording of a program which would have been lost.
3. I have been an avid supporter of the PPP from the beginning. The difference they made in my system was second to none. Simply, pure electrical current allows your electronics to perform at their designed level of excellence. I remember writing a Thread entitled “An Interesting Experiment” showing the benefits of having the PPP’s on both the sources and the amplification as well. Soon after, Ivan ordered 14 more units for “The Room”. Thank goodness he was pleased with his purchases. It would be impossible to say the PP is better than the PPP because I just put the MCD1100 in my system and the PPP’s were sold just before the MCD arrived so I have been playing it with $3 multiple outlets waiting for the PP’s. One thing for sure is the feeling of Awe I felt when I added the PPP’s is very much the way I feel with the Pure Powers. The new PPP’s will be priced higher than these units and will not have battery backup so the decision was an easy one for me. I have had the units playing for over 20 hours so far and they keep improving. Just when I think it can’t get better – it does.
If you are buying your first power regenerator, then this should be foremost in your thoughts. If you have a PPP and do not have the power needs that I do, then stay with the PPP. These units are loaded with features already covered by others in this forum and it is a comforting feeling to have the surge and power benefits they provide. These are definite keepers.
Besides all this, the “BEST” dealer, ever, handles the Pure Powers.

I have one particular track/song that I use to evaluate all of my new audio equipment "Ballad of the Runaway Horse" by Jennifer Warnes. I just played it and never, ever has it sounded so good. The full and smooth quality of her voice has no harshness at any volume and the background detail and dead black soundstage are amazing. One thing hard to explain is the apparent ease of the presentation as if there are no limits to listening levels. For $2995 this is a very worthwhile investment for protection and enhancement of your audio system.

Congratulations Howard! I've been very pleased with my PurePower 2000 as well - I really like having the battery backup for my Dish DVR, Blu-Ray, and HT processor - any item that has sophisticated electronics should have battery backup along with surge protection. The benefits to the noise floor and overall dynamics and sound quality make it even better
