I just placed an order for 2 PurePower 2000's with the option to substitute both the 2000's for a 3000 model should I opt to do so. The dealer's next shipment should be coming in the next couple of weeks.

That being said, I've heard from other 3rd parties that the 3000 model may run warmer than the 2000 model, although according to PurePower, this should not be the case. That being said, the 3000 model has 3 primary fans & 2 secondary fans (for excessive heat conditions), while the 2000 model has 3 fans only. So not sure if the fan noise factor will be a bigger issue with the 3000 model.

According to PurePower, they have just updated the fan controller to a variable speed one as opposed to a fixed speed one in both the 2000 and 3000 models. In addition, the heat sink design has been modified to improve heat circulation/dissipation. The next shipment batch should include these design improvements.

I'll probably will decide which models to go for once I've had the chance to demo the 3000 model at the dealer's place.

Thanks to Howie's heads up on the upcoming price increase, I managed to place my order just in time thereby avoiding the rather drastic price hike!

How is the new fan controller working ? Is the new PP completly noiseless stock ?

I managed to quiet down my (early) PP2000 to the point where it is completly noiseless, by means of installing a special ultra-quiet fans, silicone resilencing grommets and speed limiting adapters.
