This will raise some eyebrows; when I first built my Florida theater, I owned five MC501's for about 3 days before upgrading to 1201's.

Bel Canto DAC2.

At the time I had a Cambridge Audio 640c v2 CDP and an Oppo 83 BDP.

I thought for sure that an external DAC connected to the Opp083 would crush the CA 640c v2 by itself.

Wrong.

I even tried the Bel Canto on the CA - but in my rig the Bel Canto DAC presented a narrow soundstage - almost 'mono' in presentation.

Had it all of 2 weeks.

I once had a Parasound JC-2 which lasted for about two weeks but total listening time of about 20hrs. After extended comparison with my Lux C7 pre, I decided the old is gold and the new is out the door.

I would guess it would be the Richard Gray Pro power purification. It was bought and resold in about a week.

Emotiva ERC-2 cd player for less than a month. I bought it based on reviews I read. Put it in my system and when I powered it up it went poof. Contacted Emotiva, and told them I would be returning it for a refund. They said no problem and even sent me a pre-paid shipping label.

I had a Krell Pam 5 preamp two days. The pre amp was passing DC to my Conrad-Johnson MV50. This cause the tubes to flare. I was a pretty light show but I didn't want to blow up my amp, so I took it back.

The Adcom GFA-1a was the biggest piece of crap ever owned and couldn't wait to get rid of it! Think I had it for three months. Far from the "greatest fxxxing amplifier" touted in some mags. Its "bridged" design prevented the amps from driving anything but an 8 ohm speaker. The GFA-1A constantly overheated and shut down driving my Dollies. Eventually it to a friend who had some Pioneer speakers.

---Had a Pioneer receiver once for about 24 hours (VSX-5000 A/V Surround Receiver).
Exchanged it the next day for their flagship receiver; the first ever Dolby Pro Logic receiver (VSX-9300s).
