Olympus OMD EM-1 and Nikon D800
I finally broke down and got a full frame Nikon body over the Christmas holiday, and some fast glass to go with it (14-24mm f2.8, & 70-200mm 2.8, and AFS 50mm 1.4). The boss saw the Olympus at the store when we were getting some accessories, and really liked the smaller form factor in her hand, so now we both have interchangeable lens cameras for traveling. The Olympus is a wonderful 16MP mirrorless prosumer camera, and so far i've been very impressed with it; the Olympus app for the iPhone is great as a remote trigger, can act as a GPS, and do photo sharing from the camera.
Lugging the Nikon gear around shouldn't be too big of a problem with the right carrying options, although I do notice I'm less inclined to bring the DSLR along in some situations than when I was younger. I sure wish I had this new gear on our trip to Barcelona and southern France last summer, but hey, it gives me a good excuse to go back.

Great choices... I have the Nikon 800e, multiple Canon 1Dx, 5dMIII, Fuji X pro 1, and Sony's new 7r that has the same chip as the Nikon... I love them all, but I can still get a better pictures with the DSLR's. I am sure as I spend more time with the mirror-less cameras They will all be close. I just bought the adapters so I can use Canon and Nikon glass on my Sony but haven't had the chance to try it

I'm getting really close to ordering an OM-D E-M1; really nice body, though there is no appreciable difference (improvement) in image quality over the original E-M5.
The the boss that there's a ton of great glass available for the E-M1. I'd recommend starting off with the Panny 12-35/2.8.
