Default New ModWright Integrated KWI 200 from 6moons.com

From 6moons.com

July 2011 - ModWright integrated - Planned for an October release, ModWright's KWI 200 will be a 200wpc stereo unit in an KWA-100SE/LS-100 enclosure with dual digital displays and pure transistor circuitry. Socketry includes an HT bypass and pre-out. Input selection is via relays and both front panel knobs are rotary encoders. The digitally controlled analog volume control allows for different gain and attenuation for each input. MM/MC phono and coax/USB DAC boards will be optional. Pricing is expected to come in at ca. $5.000.

Brian.......The ModWright KWI 200 looks very nice. It is interesting that the approach to implementing a DAC into the chassis is modular. The modular DAC board is a superior application versus McIntosh's permanently fixed DAC approach in their C48 and C50 preamps. This will allow the ModWright component to remain current as technology advances, providing ModWright makes new DAC boards available as DAC improvements roll out. In my opinion, McIntosh should have designed their preamp DACs to be modular. The ModWright KWI 200 looks like it will be a winner.

Agree 100% with your comments Dan. The LS100 preamp which I am looking at for later this year (hope to compare with the C2300 so I'm following your comments there with high interest) also allows for the same modular design with either DAC or MM/MC phono-preamp built in as options.

I think the KWI200 is very nice looking as well

Agree Brian - this first one is being built to a $5k price point. While I have no doubt that it will sound terrific and meet the need for a smaller form factor, wife/living room friendly integrated, it won't surprise me at all if a SE version makes an appearance sometime in 2012!

No mistaking that is a ModWright unit. Perhaps an M and W on the knobs too?

It would be interesting to see how this compares to the PASS 150 integrated.
