Just by looking at the rear; one is made in China, and the other .... I believe in China as well (Foundation Processor).

But if it sounds almost as good as the S1200, and its room correction works as well as they suggest, Krell has this priced in a real sweet spot and should sell very well, looks aside.

First, I agree that it's not something I thought looked good when I first saw a picture of it. It does look kind of cheap. I like the look of the S-1200 much better. I'm wondering if, for hdmi audio (not 2 channel), if this Foundation might be somewhat close in sound to the S-1200? During this season of life (small kids), I don't have time for 2-channel, so if it's close to the S-1200 with HDMI audio, then it will be perfect for me. I'll probably have to hide it somewhere though...
