But McIntosh doesn't really offer anything like that. It can be done with the MEN220, but I'm thinking of something more conventional: a traditional parametric equalizer with knobs.

Another would be a control amplifier without turntable inputs. Just a simple preamp, made more affordable by the absence of MC and MM circuitry.
Man. I would be all over a MAC analog Parametric EQ with knobs.

It's about time for a replacement for the MX150,which hopefully will be upgradeable so as not to become obsolete so fast.

Default Sort of New

How about a new owners manual for the MX-150? One that actually helps the owner use the processor to the best of it's capabilities. Gives greater detail on the voicing function, computer set-up and so on

I heard they may be offering a version of the MXA60 without speakers for $1K less. What they really need to do on that unit is add a digital input.

That would seem to indicate the speakers alone are only worth $1000.

I think it could be updated to use the TM-2 tuner module like the MR88 and MA6600 which would add HD Radio. The 60th anniversary is over so it would be easy enough to do new silkscreening for the glass to remove the anniversary text.

What I'd really like to see though is a full tube version of it with a one-piece non-angled glass faceplate.

Agree with an external EQ traditional parametric. And yes MC75 in silver. Also a tube Tuner to complement the looks of the C22. And why not a full line of cables to complement Mac Gear.

I have a problem picturing headphones with big blue meters over each ear, but it would definitely show your friends your good taste!

I do not think they need anything. I kind of hope not. I heard klipschfan's aka Brian's MC1.2KW's and I think they are spectacular amps. They really got those right. The music just flows out of them and seems to have endless reserve with a relaxed presentation, in a good way. If I could lift those bad boys, I'd trade up.
