Hey David, I really like it. Its certainly a step up in sound quality over the Airport Express I had been using before. I use an iPad as the interface and its very easy to get lazy and just flick through album after album!
There are a few other 301s out there so no stress about that! You're doing pretty much exactly what I had planned for it |

there exist several versions of the Pavillon Rouge. You can distinguish them by several differences as well on the outside (transformers used) as on the inside of the amplifier (tubes, condos ...). Try to get your 10 posts on AA so we can also communicate by pm, if you want. There is another pair of Pavillon Rouge 230V on sale here HI-FI Studio |

On this page SOLD: FS: Shindo PAVILLION ROUGE Mono Block - StereoNET Australia you can see one of the different versions without transformer. It has two EF86 in the entry stage.
And another example of a PR without transformer, where you can clearly see the different tubes employed: EF86 by Sovtek, 5u4G by EI and 6BG6G by CBS. Pavillon Rouge Shindo Laboratry HiFi-Do McIntosh/JBL/audio-technica/Jeff Rowland/Accuphase Sound characteristics vary largely from one version to another. |

Does anybody habe any info about the Shindo MAZERIS BELLEVUS MODEL 454? How does it compare to the newer preamps in the Shindo line? Does it have an output transformer and withc tubes does it use? Step-up transformer? Is it Lundahl or triad?
Can´t seem to find any info about this preamp.. Cheers and thanks in advance |

Hi Daniel,
you should ask your questions to the seller of the Mazeris Bellevue on ebay. There you can get direct infos even if it is "only" for one concrete amplifier. Like with the Pavillon Rouge, there exist several versions of the Mazeris Bellevue. For example you can find on the net that it was the precursor of the Monbrison, then you also find an information saying that the Mazeris was line only without phono section ... |

Those PRs look pretty cool, but buyer beware on the used Shindo gear. Given the unique parts list and variability of parts within one model's life cycle, there is no guarantee that used gear performs as it should. Knowing the history of a particular piece is key. Unless you speak Japanese, of course...then you can give Shindo a call, I suppose.
For example, and I'm no expert, but I've seen a ton of old Shindo, I have some doubts that those transformers on the PRs are original. |

Old. Model 77 preamp. I love the font used on this one. Just like my old Sinhonias.

I don't have one...I just dig the font. I'm somewhat Shindo-less on the pre front. I had a VR with my Montrachet, but no longer use it. I say somewhat b/c I still have my amazing Aurieges stand alone phono...and my Monty...and an Arome for digital...and the Mr. T. Sadly tho, no pre.
