Yes, it sounds like they are not serious about it. They have lost me as a customer. I'm still planning on the Oppo, so thanks for that validation. I guess I'll go with Apple TV. I use Apple computers so it will integrate. Based on what I've read, though, the 4k version won't be out until the Fall.

Another thing I had an issue with on the Roku I didn't know about before buying it is it wont play a lot of my mkv files. It seems to have more limited decoding ability compared to the Oppo and Nvidia Shield products. Not sure I am completely happy with the Shield either, but it is the best compromise for me at this point.

I have the Roku Ultra, and had to kick it to the curb with that annoying popping/chirping. I didn’t expect a big difference, but there is one. I’m watching planet earth 2 via Vudu, and it’s superior in every way to the same show on the Roku

Thats the same one I have. Been very happy with it, especially now that I have Kodi up and running to stream my mkv files from my NAS to it via an SMB share. No hiccups, almost instant start, and great audio/video quality.

Still playing with various skins in Kodi to find which one is the easiest to use, but overall now am very happy with it.
