You would think that, given Esoteric only build 75 ohm Mexcel clock cable now, that they would drop support for 50 ohm output of their clocks. So it doesn't make sense that they build K1 without 75 ohm.
It may be the direction that they feel sine wave i.e 50 ohms was better, so now they could possibly have 50 ohm cables produced again to complement their clock sooner or later.

The previous G02 clock only had 75 ohm PLL outputs and G01x, only 1 sine wave 50 ohm output, rest being PLL for 75 ohm.

I am guessing demand is just not enough for 50 ohm clock cables, but it seems now from the test results, 50 ohm cables could perform better in place of 75 ohm coax interface from transport to dac if not choosing the aes/ebu connection.

I hear Brandon L. from Shunyata is making promotional tours introducing these new cabes.

Will he have thenew range on hand during the introduction presentation and get to hear the differences of the various ranges of cables?

Ivan has already tested the digital cables, including clock cables, and is currently using them in one of the Esoteric rigs.

Slight correction; I am using the Sigma 50 digital Clock Cables in all of my Esoteric/Grandioso rigs.

Three systems total.

No. The testing showed 50 ohm cable on a 50 ohm interface performed better than 75 ohm cable on a 50 ohm interface. All Esoteric need to do is build all their digital I/O to 75 ohm spec and you can forget about 50 ohm cables. Can use Mexcel 7N-DA6100 or Shunyata Clock 75.

I think that will be a tough ask for a public demo space....these sort of things best lend themselves to owner in-home systems.

We have actually done this demo in the UK at KJ West on a dCS Vivaldi stack. But you are correct, all comparisons should rightly be done in your own system.

AFAIK and was told, the test cables were neither Alpha nor Sigma and were not pre production prototypes of any kind. Caelin will have to clarify what they were beyond that. None were kept and all were returned to Shunyata.

The Sigma Clock50s I have today are final production versions purchased thru normal channels after the test. In a word, for 50ohm clock applications, the results with them are amazing and far beyond anything heard in my system over many years and many cables...
