It is this way for most brands, in any country.
Shindo has his own sense of Ethics. That is "Shindethics". A very different notion than common sense Ethics.
Also, again, I'm not certain that the quoted policy applies to used sales. So I am clear, are you asserting that the policy discussed - by Tone Imports - means that purchasers of used (NOT grey market) gear cannot have it services by Shindo?

Absolutely ! Service is assured only if units are bought from official dealers, new or used. Not for units bought on the used market, like AA or Agon....
If I am wrong on this, then I will apologize : Jonathan, Matt : am I wrong ?

Moreover, Shindo has a listing of the owners of each and every piece sold by their dealers. You're not listed : you get nothing !
For example, they know that Masseto number 038 was bought by Mr. X at dealer Y. They will service only the unit for Mr. X.
If Mr.X trades in the unit to his dealer and then the dealer sells the unit to Mr W., then Mr. W. will get service and will be listed.

Kev,
Could you please define precisely what is "grey market " ?

If you read the policy it states, "Shindo Labs is aware of unauthorized resellers representing themselves as Shindo dealers." So I guess I'd go with that. Which is a bit different than used sales. To be honest, I've never asked JH or MR what would happen if I wanted to sell my gear. I sort of assumed it would be like anything else. If you want it fixed by the factory send it in and pay for repairs. So you are saying they will not repair it?

I am an existing customer BUT that is not my experience and I also recall posts by Shindo reps discussing Shindo repairing vintage gear that had been purchased in a modified state.

Also, maybe you can define "get."

What the heck are you talking about? What war? Who is fighting? Over what?

Let me put it this way...if you "won" the "war" what would it look like? What would you win?

I appreciate your schoolyard attempts to avoid my question by referring to me as Grasshopper. It isn't appreciated.

I'm actually curious as to your response. If you are going to attack the livelihood of these guys, you should really put a little more effort into it. Otherwise, I suppose your war was doomed from the onset.
