Listening to . . . Zoltan Kodály - Dances of Galánta
Bela Bartók - Music for Strings, Percussion & Celeste, Divertimento Scottish Chamber Orchestra - Sir Charles Mackerras, Conductor A Linn SACD recording Have no idea how these performances compare to others, because, frankly, I've not listened to many others . . . but . . . I am at least bowled over by these marvelous renditions. In a word . . . . WOW . . these are excellent and the sound of the recording is superb.

Bouncing around in this nice 39 disc DG box set I got from Presto:
Schubert - The Edition 1: Orchestral, Chamber, Piano  I'm probably through about a dozen of these discs over the last few weeks and so far they've all been rewarding. This morning I'm playing disc 9, the Octet. Lovely playing and good recording.
