Default Burn in time for B&W Diamonds

I am curious if any B&W diamonds owners can share their experience regarding the burn in process with these speakers. I'm curious as to how long it took for them to settle down and what changes in their sound can be expected. Joey.

If I remember correctly it took several months for my 802d's to loosen up. I was doing a lot of traveling at that time so it could occur much more rapidly with regular listening.

The biggest improvement occurred in the mid-range.

I purchased a new pair of 802 Diamonds in August. I will say it took nearly 200 hours or better for them to break in for me. I would leave the house for 6-8 hours some days and played them at 75db --I was also breaking in a new pair of Mac 601 mono blocks, and all new Wireworld Silver Eclipse interconnects, power cords, and speaker cables.

4 months for my 802 diamonds. Using them every day. I think a bit more for my 800 diamonds which replaced them. They sure take their time

Thanks Guys,
I have only played them steady (12hrs/day) for a week. They improved dramatically for the first 3 days and now seemed to be taking a step backwards.
I guess I will have to be a little more patient

Thats a bit strange. I don't think mine ever stopped improving, Ie. no steps backwards. Well, keep them running

I would say the first 2-3 days @ 4 hrs a day so the first 10hrs made the most improvement.

Bass became more pronounced and the highs became clearer. When breaking them in for a good week I progressively increased the volume to about 95db.

Thanks Skyblue and SMC.They are starting to settle in. Bass has been a big improvement, tweeter still a little on the bright side. Mid range really smooth. Changing amp this week so don't expect much during amp break in... Will update when all components are broken in. Even out of the box these speakers are a huge improvement over my old PSB stratus Goldi. I know I'm going to regret asking this question but how much better are the 802 diamonds over the 803 diamonds?

I never heard the 803's, but I think the difference is significant.
