Sadness today

Pete, I am sorry about Arvie. Believe me I understand about not wanting another pet, but my wife wanted a dog. Next thing I knew there are thirteen of them, THIRTEEN!!! which includes 2 cats. The cats are the best cats I have ever owned, and six of total animals are rescued. I never wanted another dog since I lost my black lab, Pearl in 1991. I do know that Pearl wanted me to be happy and to get another dog. Since we live on a farm, the clan includes three Great Pyrenees, five King Charles Spaniels, and three Jack Russels. Of course this does not include the horses and ponies we raise to sell. Now I understand where all my money goes to--not to stereo.
Pete, I really do understand about the lost of a pet. One cat and two cavaliers are with the Lord now, and I miss each one of them. I do know that each one of them wants me to be around animals. Animals are our true loyal friend, and I feel they are the Lord's life preservers.

Pete, I'm very sorry for your loss. There's an old saying that you shouldn't outlive your children, but we outlive our pets who become almost like children to us. In the end I find the years of joy outweigh the pain - give it some time and maybe the right pet in need of a good home will find you again.

I am also sorry for your loss. My daughter has always had pets, down to her 7 yo dog and one ferret. Last night's fireworks spurred the ferret to join her and the dog on top of the bed, daughter says that ferret is acting more like a dog as time goes on...
Pets are worth it, and word is that we will see them again

Sorry Pete, it'll get better, trust me. You too might find a cat at the shelter that licks your nose and helps you forget.

Pete I am sorry to hear of the passing of your pet. It is said that pet owners have huge hearts. The heart has to keep getting bigger so that we can give our next pet all the love and affection possible while still keeping our past pets in our hearts.

I mean, I knew she wouldn't last forever when my my wife sold me on getting a small pet for my kid. I didn't bargain on her taking to me and becoming the little friend who greeted me on the way out the door and then again when I came home. I taught her some cool stuff. When she was passing she tried to respond to my voice. It was tough to go through that.

My wife is the animal person. She says she's done too. It's too painful. Thanks again. Pete.

I'm truly sorry! I have had dogs since I was a kid and have lost some of my best friends(mans best friend). All the pain I felt and still feel for their loss pales in comparison to the joy that was gained 12-16 years at a time. I hope you consider another companion, pet, or family as I'd call them because they are a gift that keeps on giving.

Pete, sorry that Arvie is gone, but glad she's not too far away from your family in her final resting place. I think all pets are special, they are loyal, intelligent and most of all have personality, amazing members of the family.
