Default Anyone tried pairing Boulder power amp with a different brand pre-amp ?

Just out of curiosity guys, anyone tried pairing a Boulder power amp with a different manufacturer pre-amp ? How's the sound quality ?

ARC Ref 6 and any of their amps sound amazing! Heard it at a dealer ... wow!

Cary SLP-05 and Boulder 2060, delicious!

But I am itching to try the ARC 5se or 6 with my Boulder 2060.

I’ve heard it with an Ayre KX-R Twenty. Awesome!

I've heard it with the ARC ref 6 and it was excellent.

I have paired the 1160 amp with the pass x-32 pre. To my ears it sounds fantastic. I have been told that matching pre and amp with same brand can lower noise floor but I’m not certain that that outweighs tuning a system by balancing characteristics from differs house sounds
