Default Considering moving to Integrated from separates

Starting the last major step in what has been an 18 month upgrade of my system. Coming soon are a BDP-2 to join my BDA-2 (thank you Masterlu). I am likely replacing my table with a VPI Prime. The last step is to replace my beloved Bryston 7BSTs. If I stay with separates I am leaning towards a Bryston 4BSST2 or Conrad Johnson LP125SA. The Bryston 14BSST2 is also under consideration but seems like overkill for the Aerials. Once the table and amps are in I am going to sit back and enjoy just listening to music - not that I am not doing that now but it's funny how your focus shifts when evaluating equipment.

Given we are starting to talking about downsizing now that my girls have left I am also strongly considering an integrated amp as a better option. Candidates in that space to replace my CJ ET3SE/Bryston 7BSTs would be:
McIntosh MA8000
Esoteric I-03
Jeff Roland Continuum S2
Hegel H300
I have only heard the Hegel which I liked but it was not auditioned in my system. The three top contenders would likely require me to be without a system for a bit, given the cost, while I sell the amp and pre-amp to raise the funds. Leaning in this direction. What are everyone's thoughts?

another for consideration. I have not heard the current MD line up but the previous models sound pretty damn good.

My thoughts.

Why are you considering this consolidation? Space, look, simplicity strategy...?

How often have you changed gear - pre / power amps etc? If somewhat frequent (<3 years), stay with separates for the flexibility.

Joe.......You may want to consider the Gato Audio DIA-400 Integrated amplifier/DAC. This is an outstanding integrated amplifier. The Gato Audio DIA-400 is ultra attractive, sounds fabulous, and is reasonably priced. Even better, Legend Audio is a Gato Audio dealer so Ivan can have one to you in a jiffy.

Take a few minutes to read the http://www.audioaficionado.org/gener...er-review.html

My system was pretty stable for 15-20 years due to focus on kids then college then weddings. All of the changes (BDA2, CJ ET3SE, Wirework cables) have happened in the last 15 months. I am just finishing the cycle of the upgrade. Space and simplicity strategy are the drivers but I am not willing to compromise on sound. Seems like there are some viable options out there that will not require that.

Joe, the new Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 800 looks interesting. It has a valve pre-amp section using the long life, cool running Nu-Vista valves, and a solid state power amp section based on the Titan.

The HiFi News review.

I may be tempted to have a listen to one later this year.

If you have enjoyed the sound of Bryston... then I would take a good long look at their integrated amplifier...

If you have the funds, then I would certainly add Accuphase to the mix...

+1. Would be my top choice for solid-state.
If you are not opposed to tubes, the Cary SLI-80 Sig F1 is a tube rollers delight and a great piece of gear. Really enjoy mine.
