So after a few months with the MA12000, I’m still amazed each time this beast is powered up. Visually from the amber to iconic green tubes warming up to the sheer power in reserve, MAC has hit a home run in my opinion.
What striked first was the MA12000’s low-end grip on the Sf Amatis. More detail to the bass with a beautiful midrange and delicate highs. On Boyce Avenue cover songs on Tidal, the acoustic guitars came alive. Once I started toe-tapping, I just knew happy listening days, weeks, and years will come. The Rose RS150B dac did sound better to my ears vs the integrated DA2 dac. It was not a night and day comparison but something I noticed while playing familiar tracks. All said, I can easily live with the MA12000 without another upgrade. I will never say never as we all know what happens here on AA.

I have an AQ Blizzard PC powering the RS150B, so far sounds pretty good but I may just try a Shunyata one of these days. As much as the MA12000 is a beast of an integrated, I would still give the edge to the c2300/MC501s where soundstage was a bit wider with better image separation.
