I'm a major headphone geek, and I can tell you this is both an outstanding amp, but also a respectable DAC. You should be very happy with it.

I think the Raptor sounds better, especially since you can change and experiment with different tubes. I didn't mention it because you specified the desire for a remote.

I would look at RSA The Raptor, RSA Apache, and Headamp GS-X.

So do think overall I will be pretty happy with the 903?

How do you think that model vs the raptor compare? I kinda want to stay closer to 1600 or less and i can get a 903 for about that price.

The raptor is less but curious on tone sound etc of the 2.

The other models are too much $$$$ for what I wish to invest for the 650 cans.

PS I have up graded cables on my 650s too.thanks

I have not heard the 903, but I had a 902 (the 903 is supposed to be a big improvement) for about one year, and was impressed with it. I do like the musicality and warmth of the Raptor better, but the versatility of the 903 is much better, and I am quite certain you will be happy with it.
