— install a heavy EXTERIOR door in the entry.
— Insulate with Quiet Batt. (Ivan uses that extensively)

There are other things you can do but this will go a long way to peace for all.

Thanks for all the great advice. Keep it coming!

• I will be doing absorbtion and diffusion once I have lived with the room for a while. I do have 3 2x4 GIK Art Panels that will go behind speakers above my rack.
• The sheetrock is not in but changing anything about it is not an option. If I wanted to do Whisper Clips, double sheetrock I would have to do it after moving in.
o I will ask if I can supply Quiet Batt.
o Door will be solid core. I will inquire about exterior door. Always wished I did that for the stairs to my home studio/rehearsal space as most of the noise came through, around and under the interior hollow core door.
• I will look into the Audience OFC 10AWG for breaker to outlet. Maybe I can bribe the electrician.
o I will be reusing Oyaide R1 outlets
• I am having them add insulation to the ceiling and walls but it will just be standard bats. No other option

Need more detail on avoiding ground loops. Are you saying but both back and sidewall outlets on the same 20amp circuit?

All outlets in your room need to be on the same Phase; either A or B.

I will be moving to a newly constructed home in October and part of the build is a 23' x 17' x 9' dedicated listening room.

This is not a true custom so I do not have a lot of wiggle room for changes.

The dimensions were the best I could come up with living within guidelines
I am going to add 2 20amp circuits - one mid on the short wall and one on the long wall so I have options to move electronics
I am also going to add an outlet in the ceiling in case I make this a 2 channel/AV room.
2x4 construction. Rug/8lb pad over concrete.
One small 1' x 2' in the back third of the room
One door 3' from back wall
Type 1 Whole house surge suppression (Sycom T1 Series)
4-6 LED cans in the ceiling

No plans to upgrade my system next year.

Any build suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Joe
Damn close to the "Golden Ratio". That room will sound awesome.

Your only economical choice to hang your Sheetrock on Whisper Clips is before any Sheetrock is up.

Yes i’m pumped. We are at the “pick everything for the inside”. Costs are climbing rapidly. Current dimensions are 17.5 x 12
