I don't know if I have commented on your systems as I discovered the MSF relatively late. You have beautiful well thought out systems. I am sure the new room treatments works to diffuse the reflections extremely well. I have found that I enjoy a relatively reflective live room, i.e. not an anechoic chamber. Any comments regarding your room treatments would be much appreciated. Again, beautiful gear and room! I like it.

Charles, the shape of this space had some, let’s say, severe challenges, acoustically. The ASC treatment take care of a lot of the problems this room had. Slap echo, bass loading and smear. It wasn’t terrible before the treatment, but since, all the issues have been tamed. It’s a very enjoyable listening space. My dealer worked very closely with Art Noxan of ASC to analyze and developed a treatment package that would work. I’m thrilled with the result.

I believe the room displayed is the New York room. Is it some kind of loft? I see you have the speakers pulled well out into the room. I like that. So many times I see setups where the speakers seem way too close to the rear wall. You can never tell what a room is going to naturally sound like. So often deep bass is exaggerated at the expense of a natural quick upper bass. As the speakers are moved out into the room the upper bass reinforcement by the rear wall goes away while the mid and low bass remain boosted. However, speakers positioned next to the rear wall creates an unnatural vocal among other things like depth of sound stage and imaging. May I inquire if you get imaging outside the width of the speakers in your room?

The NY room is converted space above a two car garage. Sound stage width is WELL outside the speakers. At times it’s outside the boundaries of the room. Speakers have completely disappeared! Image is as focused as I’ve heard!

Scott, if you go to my system on the MSF I think you will note the similarity of my room treatments and yours. Also speaker placement though mine are a little closer to the rear wall. Mine were done by trial and error over a number of years with several speakers. My ceiling is heavily blown acoustic. I find that having the tweeters pointed at the left and right ears respectively which works out to just being able to see the inner wall of each speaker is the ideal Wilson arrangement. My room is over a 3.5 car garage. I too get wall to wall imaging with good depth, though probably not as good as yours. This could be equipment, though. You've got some mighty strong gear to back up those Alexias.

Phenomenal. Alexia, Dag, dCS, Transparent, and pair REL 25s. Wow. Just wow. And this is in addition to the Florida system. Life is good!
