After inithial set-up I ended up with the same position. That's where focus begins for me. Near field user too (2-2.2 m).

The Ref 9 Ks have really opened up after almost 3-weeks of play. Was listening to orchestral music (Beethoven's 3rd) this morning and had to stop what I was doing and simply listen. Was quite taken with how 'large' these speakers sound. Excellent width & depth to the sound-stage without losing any of the detail and instrument placement. I will use 'amazing' to describe the low end of these monitors. Surpasses any others I've owned over the years, while remaining smooth thru the mids and grain-free thru the highs. Am guessing that having 6-weeks on the E-270 is helping some, as well. Wonderful match.

^^ Glad to hear Glenn.

Question: What's the rated output of your Accuphase?

As I generally listen at moderate levels in the near-field, 90wpc is plenty for my needs. The E-270 replaced a McIntosh MA6600 (200wpc) and exhibits excellent control of the Ref 9 Ks. Will eventually toss my 18wpc EL84 amp into the mix to see how the 9 Ks work with it.

Accuphase is known for overall sonic excellence as well as very conservative power ratings.

Wonder how my Canton’s would sound with a pair of M6200’s.
