There ya go. I'm confident that David would welcome the opportunity to hear what the A23 Hommage T2 could do for vinyl playback.

I for one would welcome hearing the Shindo gear with DeVores. I'm still of the view there are some boxy colorations from the Altec cabinets. The Altecs are incredibly spacious sounding though.

Before the Valencia's I owned a pair of Altec Voice of the Theater speakers, and powered them with the MC30's. Tremendous sound.

Also, just to let you know, I am positive I would enjoy a listening experience with Shindo gear. I fully understand what you said to me in your previous post.
Ah Dan ! I'm sure that both Altec sounded fabulous with the MC30's. Never had the chance to listen to this combo but it was a highly famous one and people still swear that very few systems of even today come close to it.

I was sure you would understand finally my opinion about Shindo and music lovers. I know how to talk to you to make you understand !

Joe : I cannot answer this question.
But if you want to keep buying and selling amps in heartbeats, DO NOT TRY SHINDO !

My first choice is vinyl, but Shindo + digital sounds great. Not "modern," and def not "classic."

Kev 313- What is this Shindo setup in the photo consist of ?
The digital looks to be DCS, the preamp an Aurieges. The amps perhaps GM 70's, but not sure. Thanks !

Tannoy Yorkminster SE, Shindo GM70, currently a very vintage Shindo preamp, Shindo Aurieges phono, Esoteric P05/D05 w/ Shindo Arome. The TT is a Teres with a custom brass and Teflon platter with a Moerch which is about to be replaced by a Schick. Not pictured is a Garrard 401, also with a Schick.

The Altec Valencia is a fine speaker.
I think those speakers look pretty great too. Very nice cabinets. It seems they can be placed quite near the wall? I like the fact that they are vintage in part.

Now David needs to get an awesome TT and step up to finish out his system. Keep that p5!

What's his taste in music? I can see all those Acoustic Sound boxes arriving...

If he reads too many of the posts here he will be on the preamp upgrade path that everyone seems to go through.

Hmmm... to add to the fun of the comparison, lets test a Shindo we 618b step up as well ...though they are basically unobtainable.

And to really compare, let's do it at Matt's on the highest resolution gear - the 300b, latours and giscour.

David, bring the monbrison to compare as well...

From what Matt and others say, you probably will go home with the a23.

I have heard quite a few combinations at Matt's, and I can state that anything when paired with the the Shindo Latours sounds insanely good. Even a more "basic" pairing of Shindo Cortese and Masseto.
