Did you check the PPA website prior to posting? It is clearly a new product announcement. That would've been easier than digging up an old Agon ad.

Of course I did! I'm not disputing that this is a new product announcement, simply intrigued by the evolution (or not) of the Partager. I just thought others might also be interested. Similar to the evolution of the Aurieges MM, where the single-box model was clearly a new product.

Was it? Depends on your particular perspective, I suppose. Are you trying to figure out the differences between the old and new model? That seems like a senseless exercise. All of the products evolve. See Giscours, Petrvs, etc. Almost any model in the lineup, if not new, has been refined through the years. Enjoy the one you have. They're all special.

Exactly. Models evolve, but this is a brandnew preamp design. As has been mentioned before Shindo reuses names as he likes.

Curious how the MM on the Partager compares to the phono on my almost new Aurieges...

Closer to the Aurieges, or Monbrison/Masseto? I'd be interested in upgrading to something that well pair will with the Cortese for a phono dedicated system. I'll ask Matt when I see him pretty soon to look at EMT, the A23 SUTs, and the A23/Shindo phono mats.

I would assume (always a dangerous idea) that it would be right in between the
Aurieges and the Monbrison. Having owned both the Monbrison and now the Masseto, a big step up between those two. My thought would be if you are going with the Cortese, you will need to look at the Monbrison at the very least.

Interesting point... Thanks! Didn't realize the Masseto was >> than the Monbrison.

With the SPU you use the built-in MC? Have you compared the MM between them with an external SUT? I'd love to check all 3 of these out with Matt when I'm up @ Pitch Perfecto next time.

I was also curious about the new Aurieges L preamp I have seen pictures of. It has the knobs in a vertical configuration, and looks a bit taller than the previous L. Anyone seen or heard it?

Yeah it has that different case - more of a shoebox size. I wasn't a fan of the vertical knob layout.

There is no way in good conscience I could let you get a Shindo without a phono input that could be used with your SUT... Sacrilege!
