I personally see “corvette” guys jumping all over this. On paper it seems like the best corvette to date-

Mid engine will likely allow extra weight over the rear axle so you can actually put the power down. I’ve even heard whispers about an AWD variant-

I also see Porsche converts buying this as an alternative to a P car (when sales used to move the other way).

Rennlist (the Porsche forum) has a lot of folks talking about getting their deposits back from Porsche on GT4s and pursuing this instead.

Hopefully it is reliable and built with good longevity

Jason.......If I were to consider purchasing the new C8 Corvette, I would probably wait for the second model year at the least to see what engineering bugs may appear in such a radical redesign for GM. If nothing else, there will be refinements.

Good point Dan!

I’m in the same boat.

Wait and see if this one catches on fire or not

As I see more pic's of the C8 the better it looks to my eye. If there is one aspect that 'sticks out' to me, it is how 'small' the C8 looks compared to the C7 and many other sports cars. One of the biggest drawbacks to newer 911s or Jaguars or Ferraris or......... for me is their sheer size, or at least the appearance of their large size. Not so the C8.

Look wise, I know what you are saying.. But here are the actual specs:
The C8 is 182.3 inches long overall (up 5.6 inches) and rides on a 107.2-inch wheelbase (up by 0.5 inch). It’s 76.1 inches wide ( an increase of 2.2 inches) and 48.6 inches tall (down by 0.2 inch). All comparisons are against the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe.

Interesting.
The 911 GT2 (you know....... the $294K model we all own ) is (compared to the C8):
179.2" in length (2.8" shorter), 96.5" wheelbase (11.2" shorter), 77.9" wide (1.8" wider) and 51.1" high (2.5" taller).
But, to my eye the C8 "looks" considerably smaller.

I will take one if they give me one. Nice ride for sure, but IMOP 2021 will be more stable and since I worked 17 years at GM... so I can say that for pretty sure.

Not knocking her, but tweaks will be fixed and updated and maybe 21 gets a more Vette like rear

PS only 60k base is a deal for all you get...
