I'll definitely give you my opinion. I know that you are building a super duper new system, are you thinking of sticking with esoteric for the digital front end?

Marc

Yes sir. I love esoteric, it's by and away the best digital front end I have ever heard. Such a beautiful sound, with fantastic clarity and articulation.

Today, I ordered the Aurender W20, so I can run dual aes/ebu from my D02x; next up will be a clock and a P02-X.

Curious of you Esoteric clock owners if you use the 10MHz fixed output(s) or the configurable variables, specifically 22.5792 MHz or 24.576 MHz?

Best Sirs,

Bob

Consensus seems to be the 10mhz output. I'll play around with it though.

Best Sirs,

Bob

I have been using 22.5792 MHz for CD/SACD listening and 10 MHz for the USB output. I may go back to 10 MHz for both as it a little bit of a pain to switch back and forth.

Ok - new thread I'm sure to come. I've read otherwise; but, again with this hobby could be system contingent too, I imagine.

Best Sir,

Bob

Specifically, seems like the order is:

Good : 44.1khz tap with 75 ohm bnc
Better : 10mhz tap with 75 ohm bnc
Best: 10mhz tap with 50 ohm bnc

From my extensive reading, and discussion with Mark (scaudiophile), that seems like the order of preference.

Of course, it is probably very system dependent, and I will experiment. I don't have any 50 ohm cable (yet)...
