Default Burmester speaker placement

I have a question regarding my B80 placement. The width of my listening room is around 4.3 meters. According to manual, the speakers should be 2.5 meters apart with the bass driver pointing toward the middle.

The problem is, if the speakers are 2.5 meters apart, there are not enough distance between the speakers and the side wall. I will probably suffer from early reflection problem with blurry stereo image. What is the best thing I can do?

1. Keep the 2.5 meters between speakers and bass drive pointing toward the middle as instructed AND use some toe in for speakers?

2. Have the speakers close to each other with bass drivers pointing outward instead of inward?

And lastly: 3. this is what I want to avoid if possible.... Put some diffusor/absorber on the side wall? If yes, diffuse or absorb?

Another separate question, since my speakers will be place pretty near the front wall (the wall behind speakers). In order to achieve best soundstage depth, do I use diffusors or absorbers?

Go with 1, or even shrink the gap a little, use toe in as needed, use absorption at side wall first relections and absorption on front wall - but only if really needed.

Espen, the 069 has the same output stage as the 077 with the XAMP2 modules, personally I don't see why I should invest in a 077 if I had the 069.

If you bought the 069 and 911 new from a dealer I'm sure he could lend you for a couple of days a 077 to make the necessary comparisons and decide if the 077 brings an improvement in the system.

Hi Anatta
Thank you fore your answer, yes i will lend from a dealer and tried it before i buy. The dealer say it will be weither and deeper soundstay? Whitney do you think?
I have 069 with outside psu so to bay 077 with outside psu wil cost a lot of money so it have to be much better if i will bay it.

Why would the 077 make the soundstage wider and deeper than the one got from the 069 directly? Remember, both use the same discreet opamps for the output stage and these opamps drive the 911. Would be like putting two 069s in series hoping the sound would improve this way.

I'm sure your dealer would be very happy to sell you another expensive box but I truly believe the money that a 077 costs would be better spent elsewhere in your system, better speakers, room treatment etc.
