Valkyrie
Last night I picked up a copy of Valkyrie on Blu-Ray, starring Tom Cruise. Being a history buff I had been meaning to catch this one for some time. I would give this movie a 5 of 5 rating, with solid performances from each member of the very good cast.
I had seen other accounts of this particular attempt to assassinate Adolph Hitler, including The plot to kill Hitler; but Valkyrie easily trumps it IMO. The courage of this group of people in attempting to remove one of the most evil individuals ever to walk the planet was unprecendented. There were some moments of very high suspense in the film, and the gravity of the film's ending really stays with you. The quality of both the video and audio on the Blu-ray disc was also excellent. I definitely recommend this one if you are interested in this period of world history. Pete

It was a great movie. Probably Cruise's best picture. The supporting cast was also first rate ! I also bought in in Blu

Great movie from a historical perspective.
 The uniform suited him. Tom Cruise is off-putting just like Mel Gibson is since their wacko public rants.I really enjoyed Inglorious Basterds, especially the scalping, just like the rest of the cinema audience did. Last edited by MyPal; 10-29-2012 at 08:23 AM.
