Question Price differential for 20 amp
Hey Masterlu !

Is there a difference in price with WW for a 20 amp powercord? Can powercords de re terminated ? Thanks to you and Jdandy I pre wired with ten gauge romex and 20 amp recepticles !

Doug.......Since very few audio components require a 20 amp male cord connector, I suggest you install the combination 15/20 amp receptacles. This will allow you to use either a 15 amp or 20 amp NEMA configured male cord connector.

Doug.......It is against the National Electrical Code and UL certification regulations for any manufacturer to install a 20 amp male cord connector on a power cord that has a 15 amp female cord connector, IEC or otherwise, on the other end. For Wireworld to install 20 amp cord connectors on a power cord, both male and female cord connectors would have to be rated and configured for 20 amps.

The photo below is a properly terminated 20 amp power cord with a 20 amp IEC female cord connector.

Doug.......That is correct. What equipment do you own that requires a 20 amp IEC power cord? The first thing that comes to my mind is the PurePower 2000.

Looking at a Dreadnaught II .


This shows 15 amp on it but I have read it needs a 20 amp circut to be plugged into

so I could keep the cords I have

WW 20 amp PC's are a bit more than 15 amp versions.

My ARC REF 2 PHONO has a 20 amp IEC
