But what about straight 2 channel on the SP3 vs the same through the BDA3?

When I listen to multichannel, I use the DAC in my Oppo 205 and feed all analog to the SP3 (7.1 analog source input). So I don’t use the DAC in the SP3 either.
I prefer multichannel but only if the recording is originally a multichannel recording. Otherwise, I go 2channel. |

Oh--Kal
I didn't notice that was you. thanks for the reply. I'm on a waiting list if Oppo ever makes a last batch of 205s. Was supposed to be June, so who knows?

On straight 2 channel on the SP3 vs. the BDA3, the BDA3 wins hands down. But, Stereo7 7.1 or Dolby Pro Logic Iix Music from the SP3 changes this equation.

Thanks Gbaby--not really interested in surround music, especially when not recorded that way. But I know you like it and I'm glad your happy.
Just considering some upgrade paths to go with my nes Focal Sopra #3s
