I use Shunyata cords on all of my equipment, except the MC2301's. I want to get this whole thing straightened out with them first before making the plunge.

Originally, I wanted the amps to be placed in my cabinet built-ins, but the problem was going to be fishing the speaker wire through the walls, so I decided instead to place the amps on the floor in the room. In any case, I bite the bullet and am in the process of building my own amplifier stands for the MC2301's (see below). My company builds high-end metal cabinets, so metalsmithing is our expertise. They will be built from thick 12-gauge metal which will have a recessed McIntosh logo laser cut on the face and powder coated in a mirror black gloss. A rubber gromet will allow me to fill them with either sand or lead shot, so these are going to weigh a TON, so the handles will come in handy moving them around.

Anyhow, I want the stands to mirror the MC2301 in appearance, so they will have the same basic size and proportions ... sort of like the power modules for the MC2K's. The handles and feet arrived today and I think the amp stands are going to turn out amazing looking.

Nope, these are your standard outlets. I will upgrade them once I have a dedicated lines established for my entire system. I'm taking this one step at a time and not having the amps working has basically put the entire project at a standstill. Having trust in the Shunyata products, I am leaning toward their outlets throughout my system.

A microfiber cloth is also highly effective for grabbing and holding dust with one wipe. Also some stuff called Invisible Glass (non-audiophile, so it’s pretty inexpensive) works wonders in cleaning the faceplate and leaves zero streaks.

And nice work on those covers!

Next time you fly give one of the cabin attendants a few bucks for a couple of blankets. When folded in half, they make perfect dust covers for the 2301s. Works for me.
