The Caesar Salad was first created in Tijuana, Mexico on 4th of July, 1924. Caesar Cardini ran out of ingredients for other dressings on busy holiday weekend (prohibition era so TJ was popular vacation destination), so he made a fancy tableside production of what he had available (original had no anchovies).

The Beach Boys first hit was “Surfin’” in 1961. Brian Wilson had never actually surfed before, and wouldn’t until Lorne Michaels did a comedy special in 1976, “The Beach Boys: Its OK” where Dan Akroyd and John Belushi dresed up as “surf police” and ordered him into the water. He surfed for his first time wearing a bath robe to cover his large stomach which he was really self conscious about. Annie Leibowitz was present and snapped the pic from this day that would become the Nov ‘76 cover of Rolling Stones magazine.
