Yep... amplifier first.

If you get the DAC and there's little difference, you'll regret the choice. If you get the amps, there is little doubt you'll immediately hear the improvement. Folks A/B amps all the time and pick the D'AGs. Sources have a limited life before technology moves on making them cheaper on the used market. This month's big deal is next month's has been. The amps... not so much.

BTW... my new amp sounds so good, it was like a two level speaker upgrade. Didn't know my Yvettes were this good.

Klimax Katalyst DSM here also, and I highly recommend it, but I also think if you have an opportunity for a great deal on a D’Agostino amp you should jump on it. You’ll have the amp for many years to come and can build anything around a D’Ag and those Yvettes.

DAC's are improving rapidly, amps not so much. So whereas I would normally say source first, in this case go for the amps first and see how DAC price/performance improves over time. It's now easy for a newly designed $2k DAC to outperform an older $20k one.

If you do indeed receive a "good deal" on the Progression monos buy them. I am extremely happy with mine. It has already been said how much a "good amp" will make a major improvement, it will especially on Wilson Sabrina's. Be prepared to be amazed.

Get a Devialet 220 and run it with roon - you will upgrade everything all at once - streamer, dac, amp. It's scary how good it really is if you do an a to b, side to side comparison with other things for more money.
