Hi James.

I'm doing some home audition with your 4B3 amp for last couple of days. Let me tell you I never been a fan of Solid State at all. I owned/tried so many SS amp and gave up few years ago and been only own the tube amplification since.

However this 4B3 amp just open up the whole new world to me. I just can't believe the depth , 3D presentation and how smooth it is without losing any details and high without being harsh. I'm so impressed with it and wondering about the 28B3 amps.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi James

Just a note:

I have compared the new Bryston 7B Cubed with the older 7B SST2 (as well as all the other Cubed amplifiers)

No competition James.

I think this is the biggest improvement in Bryston amplifier performance in the 24 years we have known each other.

Looking forward to it! I see this as a key component/building block for our system for many years.

MEMO: To All Bryston Customers
SUBJECT: 28B Mono Cubed – Customer Feedback

May, 2017

Hi Folks,

Got my Bryston 28B Cubed Mono Amps today.

I have owned several SS amps and heard thousands and I always found something was missing regardless of price. If you are tube fan boy you will know exactly what I mean please don't get me wrong my tube amps won't go anywhere. I love both of them for different reasons.

Luckily I have one super dealer and he was kind enough for me to do a home demo of 4B3 Cubed amp and I had a zero hope until I plugged it in .. ( comparing $5,600 amp vs my $23 k amp I know I know the price is not everything but usually what you pay is what you get )

I played few albums that I familiar with over the years and I was shaking my head and saying " What the heck ! This can't be right. It's a SS amp ! how come sounds so beautiful so neutral and not missing anything? "

It just blew me away with its performance with super tight bass ( my 15" driver finally found nice partner who can control her completely) and dead quiet. Also the vocal was very close to tube and wondering what 28B3 can do and I was done. I had to get them.

So far I played last 10 hours and just couldn't be happier. I had a very high end amp ($60k amp ) and I'm much more satisfied with Bryston 28B3.

It's also big step up from 4B3. Much more defined details and vocal has more weigh in to it (well I will review them more when break in is done ) thanks to James for making this wonderful amp that can compete with double or triple priced amps out there. It's a keeper

Way to go Bryston. I'm a very happy camper.

Paul

100% agree with Peter! It is a perfect match especially with PMC speakers!
I matched the newly bought Bryston 14b cubed with PMC MB2 XBD. It is definitely another level up in total audio experience! More depth, more space, more real!

Really eager to hear the new MB3 XBD personally and compare the new improvements... but it is not available in my country.

Default 2.5B Cubed In House

Just read the recent posts about the 28B3 and 14B3.
Reporting from the other end of the power spectrum - the 2.5B3, care of Legend Audio/Ivan.

Summary: Extremely happy with this amplifier.

Details: This amp is driving a pair of Aerial Acoustic 6T's in a listening room that is 4 meters wide by 7 meters deep, open back wall, seating is about 3 meters from the speakers). 200 watts/channel into 4 ohms is sufficient (for the moment at least...). The small form factor was also important in this set-up. This is a step up from a good utilitarian amplifier (namely a standard ATI 2 channel).

I used a test CD, "Engineers Choice" from John Eargle the chief engineer at Delos records. These are his favorite recording tracks and he details how each was made, and most conveniently also provides orchestra/artist seating charts.

Differences:
Previously, the sound stage tended to move slightly (usually a right-to-left shift) as the ATI warmed up and the channel gains changed slightly.
The Bryston is completely stable and furthermore provides a more defined image.

Also, the Bryston performs wonderfully at all volume levels - nothing is lost at whisper quiet settings.

As expected, the amp is completely silent without anything on the input.

I drove this as loud as I wanted (103-105 dB peaks on the iPhone meter) and no signs of stress.

Driving using balanced out from the pre-amp, 23 dB gain setting.

Kudos, Bryston and Legend.

Default 4B3 making clicking noise on power up..

4 Month old unit, just started making clicking noise on power up - just for couple of seconds. This happens both on remote power up and local. All else works well. Really happy with this amp. Does any one have this issue?
