Since the human voice is considered a instrument that would be my first choice. Piano and acoustic guitar would be a close second.

Such a hard choice. I would say acoustic guitar, with piano in second and female voice
in third. I would add that the long period of time would have to cover different music genres, otherwise it becomes too much.

For me, probably Piano. Well played it can generate so many different sounds, moods, emotions, genre's, etc. I will have to say the the washboard suggestion is a tempting second though :-)
