Yes, very upset when you wait 3 weeks for new preamplifier to find out when first turning it on that it is defective and microprocessor reset did not help.

Seriously, they should send you a replacement via Next Day Air. That would be proper Customer Service.

FWIW,...I had a similar situation with a great brand once; they apologized profusely and made it 100% right as soon as possible. I believe that will be the case here as well.

Dan.......I hope you made note of the C47 serial number so that you can be certain you are receiving a brand new preamplifier. That's what you paid for and should be what you receive.

Quality control was not Job 1, scratch on paint behind glass above input knob and also did not set level, never had problems with new McIntosh in the past

My own personal opinion but I think your dealer should provide you a stand in while you are waiting for the replacement.

Dealer is out of town, he has family in my city and was nice enough to drive it down when it arrived at his store, he as still in town and picked it up from my home so I did not have to ship it too him
