Grimm Audio
I was wondering if anyone was using either the Grimm Audio MU1 or MU2. If so, what are your impressions? If a previous Aurender user, a comparison of performance would be appreciated. The dealer I use most frequently has switched to Grimm from Aurender. At this point, I am just researching. I currently have 2 Aurender units (N10, N100H).

I did tests when I owned an Aurender N30SA.
The N20 and N30 were both more pleasing to my ears than the Grimm. The soundstage on the Grimm wasn’t as in-depth as it was on the Aurenders. The Grimm sounded a little more romantic sounding, but what I had to give up in the rest of the SQ wasn’t worth it. The AES cable - Grimm’s connection - has less packet noise than a USB. However, if you want to play 32/384 files or DSD no converted to PCM 24/192, you'll have to use USB. Ultimately I made the mistake of listening to the Taiko Audio Extreme. I purchased it. Just my 2 cents. If the pics, you will see the Grimm on upper right shelf, N30 on upper left shelf and my present system with the Taiko Ausio Extreme.

Haven't seen/heard from Bart for some time on AA but he shared a couple threads on the Grimm Audio MU1.

I had a Grimm mu2 in my system for a few days. I own an Aurrender w20SE and N100. I only compared against my Aurrender W20SE. My Aurender had a much lower noise floor and the treble was much more refined and natural. Overall I thought it was worth the money from the sound point of view. I had not compared directly with a N20, but I would be willing to bet the Aurrender will have a lower noise floor and sound as good or better than the Grimm… but that is a guess. The Grimm has a funky control button that I couldn’t get the hang of. My dealer had brought it over and we really struggled to get control via my iPad. I’ve not had this kind of trouble with Aurrender.
