This video can come in handy for anyone looking at one of these ..

I didn't know Accuphase has their own YouTube channel.

I write "seems", because Accuphase does not specify this for the DG-68.
(In the DG-58, which provides only HS-Link Ver.1, DSD is downsampled to 176.4kHz.)

A 352.8kHz (DXD) signal is only available on HS-Link Ver.2
New here, happy to be part of this group

A question, having DP 750 and then enjoying MDSD.
Having now DG68 Downsampling the DSD to DXD is indeed a great improvement from DG58.

Would this operation to preserve the dynamic range of the DSD been edited in DXD for DSP then converted back to DSD or kept in PCM DXD for return to DP 750 ?

Basically is DSP and DG 68 are compatible with the whole purpose to have MDSD ?

Isokawa... Welcome to AA!

I will run your question past Accuphase engineering.

Thanks Ivan appreciated.

This is key to define value for money to now if DG68 is keeping DSD format ( DXD is DSD edited ) during DSP process otherwise if luxury and easy to use is not requirement Dirac DRRCC 22D does similar job in PCM 96 KHz.
For memory the DG 58 was down converting DSD in PCM

Basically, the higher the sample rate, the smoother the characteristics and the better the impulse response of the (Antialiasing) filter.

Various room correction devices (Accuphase, Dirac, Trinnov) clearly differ in measurement method, measurement analysis, what they can correct and how they do it.
One needs to go deeply into the details to start understanding these differences.
(And the price may also play it's role.)

A combination of Accuphase SACD player and DG-68 is the only one capable of doing room correction strictly in the digital domain and without the need of an additional AD/DA process.

Martin

Room correction: Accuphase DG-58, Trinnov ST-2 Pro

Question Save my dynamic range

Yes of course you are right for DXD, i was meaning editing DSD

Another format for DSD editing is Digital eXtreme Definition (DXD), a PCM format with 24-bit resolution sampled at 352.8 kHz (or alternatively 384 kHz). DXD was initially developed for the Merging Pyramix workstation and introduced together with their Sphynx 2, AD/DA converter in 2004. This combination meant that it was possible to record and edit directly in DXD, and that the sample only converts to DSD once before publishing to SACD. This offers an advantage to the user as the noise created by converting DSD raises dramatically above 20 kHz, and more noise is added each time a signal is converted back to DSD during editing.

I guess the ESS 9028 DAC is using at this input DSD 24/352,8 kHz, unfortunately Accuphase is not Using 1 Bit DAC like Marantz SA10.

What would be the DXD impacts on dynamic range Vs pure DSD ?

Why DG 68 is the only one to be able to DSP in digital domain ?, DRCC 22D can do this in 96 KHz using TOSLINK or Coaxial .

If you play back SACD on your DP-750, you cannot downsample this encrypted DSD signal into 24/96kHz to be used with DDRC-22D.
The only option to stay in the digital domain is to send encrypted DSD from DP-750 to DG-68 via HS-Link. DG-68 will then convert to PCM before DSP.

Martin

For SACD indeed, but this is coming back to previous discussion about DSP / DG68 output via HS link, if this in PCM DXD it wont use the DP 750 MDSD feature which in my opinion is a shortfall s if confirmed, full digital yes but not full DSD, dynamic range ...

This in order to have full value chain between DP750 and DG68 using MDSD before D/A.

CD and streaming, 96 KHz is sufficient for DSP and lot of brand can do it full digital.

in DG 68 do we have upsampling of CD and streaming to DXD ?

Ivan did it again! 1 day early, and absolutely perfect!

5-stars for his work getting it to me..

First impressions... AMAZING..

Gonna play with it for a while before making a full review and possibly a video.
