It's important to be able to express our opinions with honest, constructive criticism, as well as praise. It's not going to make me very angry if Harold doesn't like one of my Marantz players What interests me is specifically what he didn't like about it. There also might have been some aspects about the Marantz he did like, eventhough it wasn't a keeper. Like one of the wise men on this forum said, we're all responsible for our own purchase decisions. Let's keep it real.

Interesting quote Dan.... and I concur with the your last sentence..

I guess stated a different way however, is why should, let's say and MCD1100 cost twice as much as an MCD500 for a 1% improvement in sound quality?

I fully agree that its not necessarily about $$$$, but in the end if we're going to compare we have to have some point of reference... So, there is some logic behind the notion of diminishing returns.. at least I think so.
