Great thread. I like that maybe in jest, but the topic has opened a bit.
I would not have taken a 15 yr break from the hobby. When debating how big to go when I got back in, it was a conversation with my dad that put me on a more aggressive path. His advice was simple, do it now before your hearing declines, something he is wrestling with. I'm not saying wish I'd gone big earlier. But I could have done a lot better than the midlevel receiver. 2nd all points on the room. And appreciate all the nods to power. |

Very thankful to get to enjoy this hobby at the level I currently enjoy it! Been enjoying music a long time but did not know what I did not know until, by accident a Geek Squad guy was bold enough to bust my bubble! He told me I did not audiophile level sound and suggested cabling and tweaks to start. Pissed me off (thankfully), Started it from there about 7 years ago. Sooo, with that in mind would have focused earlier on understanding quality sound, better tweaks and room treatments would rule! Olskool
